Solution

Safety Induction Video

Challenge

  • Complex technical environment
  • Understand site-specific safety rules uniformly
  • Detailed yet concise induction to retain attention during safety onboarding
  • Authenticity of the plant environment

When TAPCO decided to upgrade its plant induction and safety orientation program, it sought a solution that went beyond the typical presentation-based sessions.

Taweelah Asia Power Company (TAPCO), located in the UAE, is one of the region’s largest independent power and water production plants. The plant boasts a massive capacity of 2,220 megawatts of power and 162 million imperial gallons of water per day. Operated by Asia Gulf Power Services Company, TAPCO plays a crucial role in meeting the UAE’s growing energy and water demands through combined cycle gas turbine technology and advanced desalination systems.

They sought to create a visually engaging, technically accurate, and interactive induction animation that would help employees and contractors understand the plant layout, risk zones, and restricted areas before even setting foot on-site.

The project came to us through a referral from their OHS Manager, who had previously worked with us on another successful safety animation initiative. Impressed with our storytelling approach and visual precision, TAPCO entrusted us with transforming their induction experience.

Solution

  • Ensured uniform safety understanding
  • Real-plant imagery with immersive 3D visuals
  • Technical accuracy with creative storytelling
  • Visually engaging induction experience

TAPCO’s team wanted a safety induction video that defined the precision and the safety expectations that define a 2,220 MW power and desalination facility.

Using authentic photographs and structural visuals provided by the client, our design team meticulously recreated the plant in 3D, converting real images into life-like animated environments. Every turbine, control room, and walkway was meticulously reconstructed to ensure viewers could instantly recognize their surroundings upon arrival at the site.

Next, we layered in context and clarity. The animation was designed as a virtual guided tour through operational areas, highlighting restricted access points, and illustrating risk zone classifications using color codes and dynamic motion cues. The result was a seamless blend of engineering precision and visual storytelling.

Recognizing TAPCO’s workforce, we also incorporated clear narration and voiceovers, ensuring every message was understood without losing its impact. Each version of the storyboard was reviewed with the OHS team, ensuring that every animation frame aligned with operational and safety guidelines.
