Acquaint Heavy Vehicle Drivers With the Primary Aspects of Safety.

The mission of the EHS team was to ensure that the drivers (contractual workers) followed the safest practices to reduce incidents. Their standard practice was to gather a group of these drivers and then give them a presentation/training regarding the safety aspects during their operations.

They approached TECH EHS with their intention. After a strict evaluation process, they identified TECH EHS as a credible source for addressing their issues. It was jointly determined that a customized movie would be an ideal solution to communicate the gravity and the criticality of safety practices when driving heavy vehicles.

They required the movie to be played across the length and breadth of India as they had multiple locations. Hence, while adopting global best practices, the movie needed to communicate in the local (native) language for some of the workforce to absorb.

The prevalent practice was a two-hour induction using photos (images) and a PowerPoint presentation. The induction required qualified trainers who could pass the message to the audience(s). Contract workers came in with existing (Indian) driving cultures, which made it difficult for them to “unlearn” a few things.

The existing induction program was getting redundant and boring. This made the audience ignorant and, hence, negligent.

Based on the prevalent presentation (provided by the client for this purpose), clear areas could be easily customized and communicated through animation.

We addressed the imperative of safety education following an actual workplace incident that resulted in worker injuries. In response, we developed an animated movie to effectively communicate fundamental safety guidelines for driving, emphasizing the paramount importance of safe work practices.

Our solution extended to highlighting the essential procedures related to obtaining permits for tasks involving loading/unloading and other potentially hazardous operations. We also meticulously covered general safety protocols for drivers and their support personnel, ensuring comprehensive awareness.

Furthermore, critical information pertaining to tasks such as solo work, driving in adverse weather conditions, and adherence to standard operating procedures was intricately incorporated into the movie.

Leveraging our expertise, we crafted a script that skillfully interwove these elements, aiming to elicit impactful responses from the audience. Employing a blend of humor, shock, sadness, and a sense of familial well-being, we sought to enhance viewer engagement and productivity.

Additionally, we graphically recreated a workplace incident at the outset of the movie to underscore the paramount importance of safety.
