Hydrogen sulphide (H2S)
H2S has been responsible for causing serious incidents in the hydrocarbon industry every year and is identified as Major Accident Hazard in Hydro carbon operations. H2S is an extremely toxic chemical, which ranks second to Hydrogen Cyanide and is five to six times more toxic than Carbon Monoxide. It kills quickly and quietly and thus, gets the name of “Silent Killer”. It has killed many people worldwide, including many cases where people died, attempting to rescue their colleagues.
