With renewable energy assets spread across multiple locations, the company is committed to maintaining the highest standards of contractor safety, operational excellence, and environmental sustainability.

As contractor work forms a critical part of daily operations, ensuring safe workforce management and regulatory compliance has always been a key priority for Sembcorp Green Infra Limited.

The Safety team was spending significant time managing contractor worker records, verifying documents, issuing gate passes, and maintaining compliance records through manual Excel sheets and paper-based processes. As contractor workforce volumes increased across multiple project sites, these activities became increasingly complex, time-consuming, and prone to human error.

Another major challenge was the lack of real-time visibility into contractor compliance. Monitoring worker certifications, medical fitness records, safety training, and document expiry dates required continuous manual follow-up, making it difficult to identify non-compliant workers and ensure only authorized personnel entered the site.

The absence of a centralized contractor management system further limited operational efficiency. Contractor information was scattered across multiple files and departments, making it difficult to track worker movements, monitor gate pass status, generate consolidated reports, and provide management with timely insights into contractor workforce activities.

Preparing compliance reports and supporting internal or external safety audits required considerable administrative effort. The Safety team spent significant time compiling data from multiple sources, delaying report generation and reducing the time available for proactive safety initiatives.

To address these challenges, Sembcorp Green Infra Limited partnered with TECH EHS to implement a centralized Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS).

Historical worker records were migrated successfully into the new platform, preserving valuable organizational knowledge. This enabled users to view and analyse legacy and current data from a single system and to gain better visibility of worker safety performance over time.
